Introduction
A glider uses a total energy variometer to measure the movement of the air mass the vessel is in, rather than the raw vertical speed of the vessel. This instrument provides aural feedback in order to help an astute pilot to seek out areas of rising air and avoid dangerous downdrafts.
This mod adds a variometer which plays sound effects based on the total vertical component of the wind affecting the vessel. You can easily toggle the variometer via a toolbar button for when you've had enough beeps for one day. Like in real life, beeping indicates rising air, while a continuous tone sounds in sinking air.
