Introduction
See forum thread here for documentation and developing with WindAPI: thread
WindAPI is a modding utility for complex wind functionality with Ferram Aerospace Research. Previously, only one mod could control FAR's wind system at a time. WindAPI hooks into FAR and acts as a multiplexer, allowing multiple mods (providers) to apply wind vectors simultaneously. It sums the vectors from all registered providers and passes the result to FAR. You can be affected by weather, thermal updrafts, and ridge lift all at the same time. It also enables sound effects mods like Variometer to read the total aggregate wind from all providers to find the overall vertical component.
I hope for this to be a useful framework which makes adding cool weather and atmospheric effects to KSP easier and more straightforward. I would love to help with developing any projects for WindAPI and am happy for constructive feedback, contributions, and forks.
Installation
Requires but is not bundled with FAR >= v0.16.1.2. Fully remove any old versions prior to updating. Unpack the folder and copy 000_WindAPI into your GameData folder.
Compatibility
Presumed not compatible with Kerbal Weather Project (not tested) and incompatible with the original release version of KerbalSoaring (use updated version).
