An RP-1 visibility, tech-tree mapping, and mechanism-tag patch for the KIU mod pack.
KIU's RO compatibility patches set RSSROConfig = True on its parts but do not add the RP0conf marker. RP-1's NonRP0.cfg therefore moves these parts to category 99 (when Filter Extensions is installed) or category -1 (when a NoNonRP0 folder exists), making them invisible in the VAB/SPH even in sandbox mode.
This patch, applied before RP-1's zzzRP-0 cleanup pass, stamps RP0conf = True on every KIU part (KCHS_* / KCDE_* / KCLV_*, 189 parts total) so RP-1 skips the hide logic and the parts become visible again. It also maps each part's TechRequired from stock KSP nodes to RP-1 historical tech-tree nodes so parts unlock at the correct year/node in career mode; adds RP-1 ModuleTagList tags to 80 parts (engines / crewed modules / heatshields / parachutes / antennas / instrument bays, etc.) so they participate in RP-1's engine Tooling, human-rating, reentry/EDL, and avionics Tooling systems; and fills in the missing entryCost on 4 escape tower parts.
Cost mechanism notes: RP-1 does not overwrite cost / entryCost for parts already marked RP0conf=true; KIU's own values take effect directly. Fuel-tank dry cost is computed automatically by RealFuels (KIU's RF patch sets basemass=-1), engine cost comes from the CONFIG cost deltas in the RF patch's ModuleEngineConfigs, and parachutes are priced by RealChute canopy area (cost=0 is normal). Only the 4 escape towers are missing entryCost in both the base cfg and the RF patch — this patch fills those in.
RP0conf marker); career-mode tech-tree node placement (TechRequired mapped to 37 RP-1 nodes); RP-1 mechanism tags (ModuleTagList on 80 parts); escape tower entry costs (entryCost filled in on 4 parts). Category fields keep KIU's original values (already match RP-1 conventions); other parts' cost / entryCost are defined by KIU itself and the RF patches, RP-1 doesn't overwrite them, and they take effect directly.ECM-Engines.cfg; config upgrades only charge the cost delta with no extra entry fee, which doesn't affect basic playability.Drop the KIU_RP1Patch folder into KSP's GameData directory. Ensure the following dependencies are installed:
GameData/KIU/)GameData/RP-1/, ModuleManager identifier: RP-0)The patch only fires when both RP-0 and KIU are present (:NEEDS[RP-0&KIU]).
