ParasiticDraw adds configurable passive ElectricCharge drain to the active loaded vessel.

Its goal is simple: make ElectricCharge stay relevant after solar panels and batteries become abundant.

The added draw can apply to any vessel. It scales from vessel characteristics like part count, mass, crew capacity, crew aboard, and command modules. If you only want larger craft affected, raise the minimum part-count setting.

Features

  • Configurable passive ElectricCharge drain
  • Scaling based on part count, mass, crew capacity, crew aboard, and command modules
  • Minimum part-count setting for ignoring smaller craft
  • Light, Standard, Harsh, and Strong preset multipliers
  • Global draw multiplier for custom balance
  • KSP difficulty-options integration
  • Optional debug logging
  • Dynamic Battery Storage reporting support

Dynamic Battery Storage

ParasiticDraw works without Dynamic Battery Storage.

If Dynamic Battery Storage and Module Manager are installed, ParasiticDraw adds a Parasitic Draw consumer category so the added drain appears in DBS power monitoring.

Dynamic Battery Storage is recommended for power-flow monitoring, but it is not required for the ElectricCharge drain itself.

Current Limitations

  • Unloaded vessels and background catch-up drain are not simulated yet
  • High non-physics time warp is not catch-up simulated in this release
