KALvionics feeds live flight data into the KAL-1000 Robot Controller, driving its sequence position in real time instead of playing a pre-programmed sequence. This lets you use KAL-mapped robotic parts as actual flight control devices like variable pitch rotors, speed dependent control surfaces, and altitude hold mechanisms.

The input fields are found directly in the KAL part and not in the action groups menu. Right-click any part with a KAL-1000 to find the Avionics group. Available inputs are Airspeed, Altitude (ASL), Altitude (AGL), Vertical Speed, and Target Altitude. Airspeed ranges are set in the editor while altitude and vertical speed ranges can be adjusted mid-flight. Target Altitude mode holds a fixed AGL altitude using a proportional controller with vertical speed damping and slew rate. Axis Blending lets you overlay pitch, roll, and yaw stick inputs on top of the collective mode. This is mainly useful for multi-rotor craft with variable pitch rotors where each rotor gets its own KAL with individual axis assignments. Requires Breaking Ground DLC and ModuleManager.
