Gemini - The Frozen Moon of Kerbin.
Gemini is a massive, icy moon. It is caught in a stable orbit between Mun and Minmus. Inspired by the freezing composition of ice giants like Neptune, Gemini offers a unique logistical and visual challenge.
Gemini has a 350km radius and a surface gravity of 0.5g. Its thick, oxygenated atmosphere provides a pressure of 1.1 atm but at extreme cryogenic temperatures.
Key Features:
Tidally Locked: Gemini always faces Kerbin. This makes it ideal for surface observatories or long-term communication bases.
Atmospheric Challenge: Gemini has oxygen, but the extreme cold (-180°C) means conventional Turbofans will struggle. Expect an intake airflow of nearly zero. Rockets or nuclear engines are recommended.
Custom Visuals: high-detail terrain based on Vall's icy crust.
Strategic Location: Orbiting at 35,000 km, it serves as a perfect "halfway house" or a gravitational slingshot for missions heading to the outer planets.
