GregroxMun has graciously granted me permission to maintain Alien Space Programs until he's ready to take it back.

Originally inspired by Little Green Men from Mars for Realism Overhaul, and by Alternis Kerbol Rejiggered, Alien Space Programs was originally three separately packaged add-ons that changed the home world to Duna, Laythe, or Eve. These offered unique challenges for our plucky kerbals. I've personally taken a shine to Eve, but these add-ons needed updating badly and I learned enough of Kopernicus to update them for KSP 1.2 to fix biomes, and later 1.3 to introduce localization. GregroxMun went a step much further, by re-packaging all of these into a single add-on with a selectable home world setting, including the original Kerbin, and provided three (four if you count Restored Duna) additional home world choices.

This release is up to date for KSP 1.6.1 and a matching version of Kopernicus.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Use a clean, stock KSP installation to start. You can copy your current installation and delete all folders inside GameData, except for the Squad folder. Make sure it starts. Exit KSP.
  2. Install Kopernicus and its included pre-requisites into GameData, and make sure KSP still starts. The main menu will open to a different view of Kerbin if successful. Exit KSP.
  3. Install AlienSpacePrograms into GameData, and make sure KSP still starts. It should default to Kerbin as the home world. Exit KSP.
  4. Edit HomeWorldSetting.cfg to choose your home world and, optionally, atmospheric settings. Start KSP, and your chosen home world should be on the main menu screen. Enjoy.

Version v1.5.1 for Kerbal Space Program 1.5.1

Released on 2018-11-27

Change log:

  • Rebuilt from scratch using Kopernicus 1.5.1's "Choose My Kerbin" feature; each home world is templated off the stock original, including that world's artifacts and removing Kerbin's artifacts.
  • Templated Bop for Minmus because Minmus' template didn't work with the KSC scene.
  • Templated Duna for RestoredDuna to ensure RestoredDuna's artifacts appeared as intended.
  • Templated Eve for Jool to make sure no Kerbin artifacts appeared. I couldn't template Jool because of a lack of PQS baseline.
  • Added unique ground tracking stations for each home world.
  • No ground stations for Jool; where in the Kraken's name do you put ground stations on a gas giant?
  • Integrated @OhioBob's Realistic Atmospheres v1.3.0 along with optional choices for Eve and Tylo.
  • Made the Realistic Atmospheres on/off switch affect the whole planetary system, to let players use the stock settings or the RA settings for all planetary bodies.
  • Adjusted Eve's and Tylo's KSC locations depending on stock or RA settings.
  • Added MapDecalTangent settings for Bin to make sure the KSC's stock location was available to build bases from.
  • Added unique ScienceDefs for atmospheric Tylo, and added KSC-specific ScienceDefs for Homeworld Tylo. Enjoy Winnipeg, folks. Make sure your block heater / RTG works.
  • Adjusted luminosity values for each home world setting to ensure correct solar panel operation.
  • Added patches for popular visual add-ons to make sure Kerbin's configurations would apply to Bin.
  • Thinned out the placeholder atmospheres for Minmus, Dres and non-RA Tylo.
  • Hopefully I didn't miss any other changes.

Version v1.3.1 for Kerbal Space Program 1.5.1

Released on 2018-11-13

Updates for KSP 1.5.1 and Kopernicus 1.5.1-1. Backwards-compatible with KSP 1.3.1 and 1.4.5 with matching current editions of Kopernicus. Be sure to use v1.3.1-14 or later for KSP 1.3.1.

This is only a verification release, with one minor change to home world atmosphere curves. The actual pressure curve starts at 0 m altitude, but staticPressureASL is always 101.325 to ensure KSP calculates atmospheric specific impulse correctly. This appears to fix the Atmosphere display in flight mode as well.

Version 1.3.0 for Kerbal Space Program 1.4.5

Released on 2018-09-11

Updates for KSP 1.4.5 and Kopernicus 1.4.5-4. Backwards-compatible with KSP 1.3.1 and Kopernicus 1.3.1-11.

New in this release:

  • Added BigFatStupidHead's Dres Project as a selectable home world.
  • Corrected some problems with The Dres Project's tech tree.
  • Performed a Dres Project career mode balance pass.
  • Added localization fixes to celestial body descriptions.

Be sure to obtain a supported edition of Kopernicus and its pre-requisites. Avoid Kopernicus 1.3.1-13 for now as not even the stock system will load.
