A huge tech tree which radically reassigns parts for a different progression experience (start with unmanned rockets, early airplanes and rovers). It is thus very different from the CTT and stock trees on which it was based historically.

Information Changelog Stats

This is not the CommunityTechTree. While it historically started out as an addon to the CTT, in the current form it should be treated as a separate tech tree concept, retaining the stock and CTT nodes for compatibility.

For more information and support, please visit the SETI Forum thread.

More reasonable tech tree progression - SETI-CommunityTechTree

  • Start with non-recoverable simple SRB rockets, continue with airplanes, rovers, LFOs and chutes, manned spaceflight comes only after that

  • Early rocket building is a struggle for control, use fins, winglets, RCS and engine gimbal, before you can unlock reaction wheels

  • Fuel Tank diamater increases before engines, use tweakscaled adapters and engine clusters

  • Fuel Lines later, should discourage bad stock habits: Use smaller vessels/smart design in early to mid game, instead of asparagus motherships

Version for Kerbal Space Program 1.0.5

Released on 2016-06-24

  • Simple removal of min and max from version file
  • So that using it with later versions of KSP generates less KSP-AVC error messages
  • Due to the state of KSP and the planned rework, SETIctt will probably only be manually available for KSP 1.1
  • Alternatively the much simpler UbM is supported for KSP 1.1

Science Experiment Transmission Values

  • Simple stock experiments transmit for 100%, even without SETIrebalance
  • Since parachutes are available so late, 50% transmit was a balancing nightmare

Part Position Changes

  • Mk-55 earlier @advRocketry
  • O-10 later @precisionPropulsion
  • LV-1 variants earlier @generalRocketry
  • Many docking ports & Hubs moved back, as well as MobileProcessingLab
  • Lights to engineering101
  • Accelerometer to engineering101
  • 0.625m Fuel tanks to generalRocketry
  • LV-T30 to basicRocketry, if VenStockRevamp is not installed
  • Avionics Hub @unmannedTech
  • Rudimentary config for FASA

Please support continued SETI maintenance & development via Patreon

SETIctt is now technically independent from CommunityTechTree

  • Thus it is now irrelevant whether CTT is installed or not
  • So changes to CTT do not automatically throw off SETIctt anymore

Node changes

  • specializedFairings attached to stability instead of advConstruction
  • Survivability more expensive - 24 science instead of 18
  • expNuclearPropulsion cheaper - 1500 science instead of 2250

Mod Support for Universal Storage

Part stat changes

  • STACK probe core lighter - now only 60kg
