Rocket Smoke 0.2.0
for Kerbal Space Program 1.12.x

A rocket's smoke as a true volume: it rolls out over the pad at lift-off, climbs after the
rocket in a column, and hangs and drifts in the wind, lit by the sun and by the flame. It is
the smoke of the Volumetric Explosions mod, fed by engines instead of by a blast.

INSTALL
This mod needs two others, each a separate download:
Keystone, the base it stands on: https://spacedock.info/mod/4665/Keystone
Volumetric Explosions, which makes and draws the smoke: https://spacedock.info/mod/4669/Volumetric%20Explosions
Copy their folders (Keystone and VolumetricExplosions) into your KSP's GameData folder,
and the RocketSmoke folder from this download beside them, and start the game. Without both
the game does not load this mod. One copy of each serves every mod that uses it. To remove
this mod, delete the RocketSmoke folder.

USE
Nothing to do: every rocket engine leaves its smoke where there is air to hold it. Its
settings (how much, how long it hangs, and switching it off) are in the Keystone window:
the keystone button on the game's toolbar, or Option-K on a Mac and Alt-K elsewhere. Then
  turn to Rocket Smoke.

BESIDE OTHER MODS
While its smoke is drawn for an engine, the smoke the game draws for that engine is hidden,
and so is the flat haze of dust the game puts on the ground under it. Flames are left as
they are (the Engine Flames mod does for those what this does for smoke). Jets, ion engines
and engines that burn something it does not know keep the smoke they had.

WHERE IT WORKS
Made and tried on a Mac, and tried on Windows 11. The smoke is drawn by Volumetric
Explosions' shaders, packed for the game's OpenGL (a Mac, Linux) and built for Direct3D
(Windows); nobody has run it on Linux yet. Where that mod cannot draw a volume, this one
says so in its settings and leaves the game's smoke as it is.
